I was surprised, and disappointed, to receive the following email from a member of the UAEO "management" (I won't mention any names).
Second - there is no reason why someone can't be involved with 2 clubs at once. I used to own a Jeep, a Chevrolet and an Alfa Romeo but I was able to drive any of them at different times. Each had their own unique characters and was suited to different tasks - the Alfa was dreadful off-road!
The same thing applies to clubs!
There is surely enough space for more than one club and there is no reason why someone can't be an active member of two or more off-road groups. I feel that the email sent to me by the club is unnecessarily confrontational, is completely "out of order" and very disappointing. I don't see that membership of Oasis Offroad (if and when I DO join) is really any business of the management of UAEOffroaders. After all, I don't have a position of responsibility in UAEO, do I?
There is no explanation of what the restrictions are, whether they are permanent or temporary, who made the decision etc.
I have no interest in creating conflict here - but it does appear that someone else does.............
Hopefully common sense will prevail.
First I would like to point out that I do not have a "position" within the new club -I am not even a MEMBER of that club yet! I have simply made my web hosting account available to a friend for it to be used for the club but that is all so far.Dear Richard Moss
As you have a position in the new club we established in Al Ain we uaeoffroaders decided to restrict you access to our website to a certain to login limit.

I did wonder that Wasif, that's one of the things I'm asking for clarification about.
Maybe one person has taken a decision by themself, sent that email but not actually discussed it with the rest of the management or properly thought it through.
It is all rather strange

Ah, looking at the forum index now I see the restrictions - I can't view any trips, so can't sign up for them. . Also, I no longer have "offroader" status, it would appear - the grading under my name has now disappeared.
What is that all about, then?
Which really is what that individual should have done in the first placeWasif Ahmed wrote:Take it on Pm with the founders Richard...best that way for everyone

I was surprised (no need to be surprised Richard), and disappointed (also not disappointed) , to receive the following email from a member of the UAEO "management" (I won't mention any names) (This member is Me).
Dear Richard Moss

First I would like to point out that I do not have a "position" within the new club -I am not even a MEMBER of that club yet! (you are a member of that club long time even before it was established Richard) I have simply made my web hosting account available to a friend for it to be used for the club but that is all so far.
Second - there is no reason (this up to you, but for uaeoffroaders it is a reason) why someone can't be involved with 2 clubs at once. I used to own a Jeep, a Chevrolet and an Alfa Romeo but I was able to drive any of them at different times. Each had their own unique characters and was suited to different tasks - the Alfa was dreadful off-road! The same thing applies to clubs !(we uaeoffroaders don't accept that)
There is surely enough space for more than one club and there is no reason why someone can't be an active member ( nice word active member lool, Richard were never been an active member in uaeoffroaders you are here just to Criticism the club management, you never like what we are doing, never attended our big events simply you are not a detected club member ) and of two or more off-road groups. (having a rank in our website is a position)
There is no explanation of what the restrictions are, whether they are permanent (yes) or temporary, who made the decision (Again it is Me AlMagboul Club Manager) tc.
I have no interest in creating conflict here - but it does appear that someone else does............. Hopefully common sense will prevail.

So you are saying that I cannot be a member of two clubs at once? Show me where in the club rules it saysthat.
You say that I amnot an active member - but I got up to Offroader level within 6 months so tell me how I could do that without being "active"?
How could I have beena member of Oasis Offroad BEFORE it was even established? I'm not even a member now!
Khalid, your response above makes this look personal and that is disappointing. [

You say that I amnot an active member (yes you are not an active member. you have only 357 post Which means 0.98 post per day. but actually most of this numbers of post you are Mockery the club management)- but I got up to Offroader level (this is nothing of being active or no it is driving skill, some member got advance from the first trip) within 6 months so tell me how I could do that without being "active"?

Richard, Khalid.........Think u guys need to forget about all that has happened!!!!!!
i'm sorry but this is becoming disgusting!
Khalid:- for the betterment of the club and the atmosphere, please just drop it and restore everything to normal. it does seem to be like a personal problem here i'm sorry but thats wat its been like.
Richard:- we all understand your disappointment that day but some marshals did take the effort of running a trip for some of us that wanted to drive. understood it was abit far. i drive from dubai every week! where there is a will there is a way.
your criticism may have been in a lighter fashion but remember that can only be put across by body language and tone of voice....never on written text.
A lot of effort does go into planning these things not everyone has the same working patterns and organizational skills as anyone else.
this has gone too far and is ruining the reputation of the club!
richard there is no rule that says you cannot join any other club, i have driven with almost4x4, arabian offroad academy and Dubai offroaders.
