To simplify on my point above, the extra wear and tear on the engine after re-mapping the ECU does not necessarily destroy the engine - one can assume it will shorten its lifespan, but by what, maybe 10%, maybe 20%? but that is normally a fair price to pay for the increased performance.

And that extra wear and tear would happen only at high RPM which is an area you would be visitng quietinfrequently .

Its not that the car would be driven at 10/10th of its performance at all times.

The beauty of the whole thing is that you can actually squeeze some power out of that lame 3.8 and have fun on the sand with lots of challenges that increase the driver's abilities to tackle tought places without going to the extreme of installing a Hemi. Once a Hemi is installed, then the element of challenge is lost.

Those are very respectable numbers considering that a stock 3.8 JK puts down 150-155rwhp and 175-180rwtq.
