Apparently this is the new SRT8. It was tagged as the WK2 Low rider (no lower than stock though) and is deemed to be the new SRT model of the Grand Cherokee! VEry nice looking rig. Same specs here as the offroad edition, but the SRT powerplant is expected to be dropped in mid 2011. Would be nice to have the offroad edition though eh?
Red.... It coems ready modified and hot to trot for offroad. I WANT ONE!!! Image

And this is what they have to say about it

Nearly two decades ago, Jeep invented the premium sport-utility vehicle segment with the introduction of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which made its Middle East debut in 1994. Nearly two decades (and over 4 million sales) later, Jeep delivers an all-new Grand Cherokee that balances legendary Jeep capability with improved, sophisticated on-road dynamics that deliver a premium driving experience.

"With the all-new 2011 Grand Cherokee, Jeep has created the benchmark, premium SUV," said Jack Rodencal, Managing Director, Chrysler Group Middle East. "Unique innovations such as our new Quadra-Lift air suspension - standard on our Overland models - and Selec-Terrain traction control systems separate Jeep from the crowd and take the Grand Cherokee to the next level of 4x4 capability. The new generation of the iconic Jeep Grand Cherokee delivers the perfect blend of on-road refinement, superb craftsmanship, world-class design, improved fuel economy, innovative features and legendary, real-world capability."

Capability highlights include a choice of two 4x4 systems, new Jeep Quadra-Lift Air Suspension and Selec-Terrain systems, and towing capability of 3,357 kgs (7,400 lbs). On-road dynamics are improved courtesy of new independent front and rear suspension systems and a new body structure that dramatically increases torsional stiffness for reduced noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels.

The design of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee boasts an all-new sculpted body and athletic profile that define a sleek exterior and aerodynamic finesse. A world-class interior design is highlighted by premium soft-touch interior materials for all models. The interior provides consumers with more than four inches of increased rear-seat knee and leg room, and 17% more cargo volume.

Chrysler Group's all-new 290-horsepower 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine boasts an 11% improvement in fuel economy for the Jeep Grand Cherokee, delivering up to 9.78 kmpl (23 mpg) and over 800 kms (500 miles) on one tank of gas. The all-new flexible-fuel engine is standard on the Grand Cherokee, and features Variable-valve Timing (VVT), double overhead camshafts and a high-pressure die-cast aluminum cylinder block in a 60-degree configuration. The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is also available with the legendary 5.7-litre HEMI engine which is fitted with Chrysler Group's MDS system which maximises fuel efficiency without compromising performance.

More than 45 safety and security features are available in the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, including standard Active Head Restraints, full-length side-curtain and seat-mounted side thorax air bags, Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Hill-start Assist, and Trailer-sway Control. A Blind-spot/Rear Cross-path detection system and Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Collision Warning are also available.

The all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available in 3 models: Laredo (3.6L), Limited (3.6L, 5.7L HEMI) and Overland (5.7L HEMI).

"The all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee represents a well thought-out model range with fantastic amenities and world-class interior materials, meaning customers can find the exact model they need, whether it's for work, personal driving or - as is more the case today - both," added Rodencal.

Jeep Trail Rated

The Jeep Grand Cherokee's four-wheel drive systems are Trail Rated. The Jeep Trail Rated badge on the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee shows that the vehicle has been designed to perform in a variety of challenging off-road conditions identified by five key consumer-oriented performance categories: Traction, Ground Clearance, Manoeuvrability, Articulation and Water Fording.

Jeep Trail Rated is a unique methodology used by Jeep Engineering to measure and predict off-road performance for all Jeep vehicles today and into the future. Through a combination of natural and controlled field tests, Jeep Trail Rated provides a consistent measurement of off-road performance for all Jeep vehicles.

I do like the specs, but the airbags and indipendant suspension is nothing compared to coiled corners on 4 link systems. You will get good clearance with the airbag lift option but nowhere near as much as a coiled suspension with disconected sway bars. Watch mine when I install my lift. I will show you what I mean!
Here is a great write up on suspension explainations. http://www.autoanything.com/suspension- ... 163A1.aspx
Still great though.

Yes, I agree - and putting in a proper lift will be very hard to do ($$$). The air suspension lift will have a max speed limit attached - in the new Range Rovers (and I think other brands, like the Mercedes GL, and can't remember) it drops automatically above 30kph.
