There are two things that will fix almost anything, mate - duct tape and WD-40... one of those will remove the sticky residue ;) You have to remove the sponge bits first, though, so the WD-40 can reach the adhesive.

Yeah, I found some good stuff in carefour too. Citrus cleaner. I had some sticker residue that had been on for a looooooooooooooooong time. A coupel of sprays with that stuff and BAM, it wiped right off (elbow grease not included) :D
