The maps are however just points, it is not satellite imagery - that you'd need to get through a Garmin Birdseye subscription.
What Nasser said. The UAE and Oman offroad maps are not much use for the desert and the UAE as a whole, but it's full of locations for Oman. AED 200 from Amit and comes in a micro-SD.Uncle wrote:You can get it at Amit in Mina, Abu Dhabi
It is not useful for the open desert, however, it does contain trails for the mountains.

Garmin Montana 600 - offroad map
Hi everyone.
I am new comer in the Community. I am in AD since a year and have done a couple of off road trip.
I wish to join this club to enjoy even more UAE off road.
@ Nicolas, I agree with HaMaD.
This is what I have done for my Montana 650. I have paid a yearly fee into Garmin site and now I can download whatever map I wish (up to reach capacity of the memory of GPS).
You can even select the definition of map (low, medium, High) which give you even more flexibility. If you are full, you remove the one you what from your device and put it back later if needed.
I have downloaded area in Liwa, AD, Dubai, fossi Rock, Fujairah, Oman and I still haven't reach full capacity.... It may slower the "refreshing" screen of the device though.
Any way, it is a cheap and convenient what to do, even if it does not give you a full detail map (but it is better than the blue screen)!
cheers.

Guys, once again thanks for your previous comments. I followed your advice and since I use birdeye which is nice, easy and quite cheap.
Do you know if we can share birdeyes images ? if so I'll be happy to send you the one I have and if some of you already downloaded Liwa in good rez I'll be happy to get it....otherwise I just do it and it may take some times.
For Liwa, do you have gpx files ? tracks you have done ?
Thank you,
