Heat Shielding/Insulation.....ever seen it here?

Sun Aug 24, 2014 9:10 am

So with the summer heat, the Jeep JK automatic has so much heat that comes up through the floor. With the exhaust being under our feet, and the automatic transmission pumping it makes the floor as hot as a skillet...literally, I have melted things already during long drives.

I want to know if anyone has ever seen anything like this material, or similar... http://www.jegs.com/p/Thermo-Tec/Thermo ... 8/10002/-1 -or- http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS-Performance- ... 2/10002/-1 ???

Thanks for any info you guys can share!!!

Hey Zach, I know Lee (Lionbar) got some insulation fitted to his Wrangler, but it was mostly (or all) on the roof for the summer heat.

Might be worth checking in with him anyway, just in case

Have you checked to see if the stock heat sheild has been damaged/removed? There should be something under there already which deflects heat. however, it is probably useless as with most stock jeep protection...... :D
