Hot Oil - JK

Thu May 21, 2015 6:02 pm

2011 JK 3.8L

I've had a transmission oil temperature warning a couple of times recently. It does tend to be after a steep climb on loose sand. Granted, it may be partly down to my novice driving, but is this an issue other Jeep drivers have had?

I am thinking about getting an aux trans cooler installed. Has anyone else done this?

I remember Western Motors used to resolve such cases by installing Transmission Cooler free of charge.
Check them out

I wouldn't bet on it from Western Motors.

Even when I showed them evidence of this happening (in 2011 or early 2012) they flatly refused, as Chrysler was not accepting the charge-back. Trading Enterprises in Dubai however did fit this for free - without any evidence required.

It helps, but it still overheats.

I had installed the transmission oil cooler from MOBAR on my JK 3.8 which solve the problem 100%. It is not easy job but Worth it.
I fix it at SSS garage in Sharjah.
