Natural Habits of Youre Car

Sun Oct 02, 2011 9:41 am

Has anyone found out what the natural habits of their car is yet?

well i know some of mine and here they are:
My Car : Jeep Wrangler 2010 (JK)
1. Clutch heavy and steering box noisy after long distance driven on-road.
2. Ac can (sometimes) really suck power out of engine. Can be felt sometimes when compressor kicks in.
3. Jeep has it days when it will fly like a rocket and some days when its in a lazy mood.
4. Jeep doesnt like it while upshifting to higher gear and you skip a gear (e.g from 3 directly to 5) ... It Doesnt Like That!!
5. As mohannad pointed out to me a while back, while holding youre gear shifter, place it in 1st gear position before engaging point (without clutch) or near reverse engaging point, and car will move (if on straight even surface).
6. If you constantly flick the turnsignal lever just before it sticks, you can make the signal light freeze in "ON" position.
7. Car likes to be very sluggish at low RPM ( 2000 RPM or below) in 4h.
8. Front suspension very noisy when going over uneven terrain ( natural noises of suspension changing angles)
9. Traction control has a mind of its own even when partially disabled (pushing traction control button only disables it 75% btw)

Does youre car naturally do these or Anything Else you have noticed?. Helpfull things to know that youre car naturally does. please share any thing you have noticed that youre car naturally does, tricks, little mistakes,..... and find out what each brand of car naturally habits are to share with members so they know what to expect and not expect from their cars.

nissan badroll

- steering noises
- the signature front bump on the bumper is a must
- unnatural slight over-heating (a 2 mm less than the center) is a natural, simply move the car so the car gets more air and check your water levels.. etc. if everything is fine... then its a nissan thing
- diff lock not lighting, simply turn it on and go on terrain that would require it and it will activate then when you get over the obstacle close it. it will take a while for the bulb to go off.
- when you go from 4H or 4L to 2H... the 4 wheel drive bulb doesn't go off, wait for it and keep driving straight for about a minute, if it doesn't go by then, put your car in neutral and try putting it back in 4H then back to 2H.
- you have to slam the back doors... all english all za time.

can't think of anymore at the moment, i am sure there are plenty of others

Well, ZJ's have a few quirks anyway, but my individual ones are as follows:-Intermittent hard starts. One try it fires up like new, next start takes a few seconds/tries-intemittent bad viscous coupler (full time 4x4 regulator). SOmetimes works fine, other times locks up and causes body hop (where the front end shimmies at full lock due to all wheels turngin at the same speed).-Runs hot, at temps that some would think is close to overheating when in the sand but is actually optimum operating temps due to the small engine bay and big V8.-side light on drivers side works when it wants. Give it a slap and it is fine!-AC as Saleh explained-noisy steering when hot, must be a Jeep thing-can have binding in the steering linkage if fully flexed suspension and full lock steering, liek when cross cresting at slower speedsI think that's it, btu most likely some other things I now deem as normal! :D !!!ITS A JEEP THING, YOU JUST WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!!!

Toyota Tundra 2007

It good while on road with normal specified tires but when u change em expexct vibbration to a little extent .

Sand gets into the A/C and that was why my A/C takes time to switch on ...

As Scav said .. VSC is off only 85% and mostly while comming down a dune or breaking after u do a crest .... they brakes dont work for a few seconds, so u gatta let it go and then slam it and it wud do the job

The Tail gate normally is smooth while opening or I dunno if its because of me that now i gatta slam it ... Mostly cud be due to the accidents happened ....

well thats all i have discovered .... but the best part of all is that .. these things started to happen after 3 yrs of non stop offroading. ( say 3-4 times a week )

yea after theese many years .. things started to fall apart .. Axles need to be changed etc etc .....

LOL....as you all know I drive a 2010 FJ Cruiser.

Rack my brain as hard as I can I amd unable to find any quirks or faults with its performance.

No overheating, no loss of power, no steering noises, no "bump" mandatory on front bumper, FWD both H & Low engage & disengage effortlessly, A - Trac and Difflock work as they should ,,,I could go on and on and on !!!

The only think I would say is that I would like a sun roof as a standard option and maybe a convertible option.

When I climb in and switch on the car I am greeted with a "Hello Wasif Ahmed" text that scrolls on the radio....can't ask for more

AND....TONY ...." I understand the Jeep thing, thats why I bought a Toyota"
