On going through my pathfinder's manual I learnt that among the two front recovery points that are pre-installed, only the one one the right side, i.e. on the side of co-passenger, is designed to be used to pull out a stuck vehicle. The other one (left) is not strong enough and is meant only to be used to tie down the vehicle etc, e.g. during transporting the vehicle on a truck. I suggest that you go through the manual as well to be sure and safe.

Cheers!

Wow! Interesting! I think I,d spray-paint the "real" recovery point red, if it were my car, just to be sure there,s no confusion about which one to use.

My Xterra is the same, there's a rear tie-down point that isn't suitable for recoveries. That's why I got the trailer hitch, not perfect but an improvement.
