Hi guys, I've been advised by a respected friend with more knowledge and experience than me not to go ahead with this, and so I will follow his advice and cancel my offer. Any repairs should be carried out by licensed workshops in the industrial areas. Sorry for any inconvenience, and I remain available for helping with advice and suggestions but not by doing actual repairs or modifications. I'm sure you understand :)

Completely understand mate. Whilst you're doing a service for friends which is free, you still hold yourself open to laibility in case of an accident. Thanks for putting the offer out there, and through this I have decided to keep my YJ, not repair and sell, so some good has come of it for me at least.

Cheers bud :D

Yes, and what also weighed on me was his comment on how only licensed garages are allowed to work on cars, and that the authorities would be very worried about people making illegal modifications outside of the licensed garages... :(

Though of course I wasn't planning any, that is what would be assumed. Change a driveshaft and next thing you know you're installing 350 kph jet engines into the back of old Patrols! LOL

Well it wouldn't be the first time one of my minor repairs has turned out something similar...... Well maybe not that extreme, but a set of shocks did turn into a 3.5" lift, full steering and suspension refurb, exhaust, intake, wheels, tires, axle shafts, axles trusses, homemade storage unit, 8 aux lights, sound system and bully horn all fitted on to my old ZJ in my driveway.

All for the beast to be deamed unfit for use 6 months later after I blew the computer, bent the front axle housing, killed two cylinders, dented the frame and cracked the transfer case in one silly incident in the sand. ABS, Absolute Bloody........... Well you get the picture! :D

Anyway, better keep yourself out of the reach of Johnny Law. He can be a merciless beast when he wants to be!

Hey PR, I guess your friend is right but your advise has proven invaluable to me.

Once again thanks for the initiative. I am immensely thankful for the guidance you have on the phone and am sure there's a lot of people who can benefit. Especially Elsie owners. :D

My old YJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ!

Oh man! What a great video!

I love it how it climbs and the modern Jeep has to fall behind! 8) 8) LOOOOL

Zeemmee, very proud of you, buddy. You've not only kept it running well, but you've improved on it.

Ladies and Gentlemen Club Members - that is a 21 year old car you have the pleasure of experiencing in that video. 8)

Zeemmee, don't know if you know this history, but that YJ won me 3 events and trophies from 3 different clubs:

The Dubai4x4 King Vehicle Challenge for the Hill Climb event;
the Extreme Duning Challenge, representing Al Ain against teams from three other 4x4 clubs;
the ME4x4 Camel Spider Trophy, in a team with 2 other Jeeps (one of them a twin white Renegade 8)
