Rocky Challenge

Mon Nov 08, 2010 9:18 pm

Some time ago (years!) some friends and I set up a 4x4 rock track, called it Rocky Challenge, mapped it and tested it, and then never really used it!

Tintin reminded me recently just how much fun rocks can be and offroading is not only sand dunes... so here are the pics if anyone's interested. The obstacles should still be marked; if not, I'll remember them. And if I can't remember them, we'll make some new ones! 8) LOL

Here's the map - the location is just outside of Bureimi, in Oman, but no visa is required.

The first climb, up high to a beautiful open-desert view (no dunes, this is the start of the Omani mountains):

Here's the most difficult obstacle - a ladder is needed for this one only; the other obstacles can be negotiated with a stock 4x4 and some good driving.

Yes mate. I will be fitting my lift this week, then any time after this month I am ready. Looks like a blast. I NEED ROCKS MAAANNNN!!!! :D

Looks like the extreme articulation of the ZJ will be a welcome competitor to this craggy site. Can't wait to test out my new flex!

With Last year Rain some markers are washed out but the rain add additional Obstacles. You may need more than ladder in some areas.
Thanks PR for the Map. It is grat out door and good fun

Lets do it. Cant wait.
