I was at Mebar this Thursday and had my stock FJ suspension replaced with teh ICON Stage one.

These guys are pros and teh job was done in three hours flat with alignment taking another 45 minutes.

The result is that now my FJ has been lifted two inches and also levelled. The kit can go upto 3.5 inches but more than 2 inches would require new upper control arms which come with teh Stage two along with extended travel shocks.

The car was a blast to drive back to Abu Dhabi, the cornering has improved and stability at high speeds is great.

I took it to the intermediat trip yesterday with Khaled and what can I say....it was a BLAST.... I have never had so much fun out in the dunes than yesterday.

The cresting has become a breeze, one doesn't have to be pussyfoot it off a slope fearing broken bumpers anymore.

The suspension stiffens progressivly and the car felt amazing flying over small dunes at a good clip.

Cost with installation was Dhs 7,500 a bit steep but I must say its worth every fill ! The best part is that the suspension is upgradeable to stage two and on as when you want to.

This is the same setup used by teh Fj team on their Desert Challeng rig so needless to say it comes highly recommended and well tested.

Next will have to be new tires and maybe a set of spacers and finally its the skidplate which is under development at Mebar.

They are the only ones offering a plate that is mounted on a perimeter frame, custome designed for the FJ, that then bolts on to the chassis, advantage of it is that the frame bears the brunt of any impact rather than the chassis.

If anyone is looking for a very experienced and competitively prices workshop then Mebar is where you need to go, they even work on Jeeps and other offroaders too.

Congratulations Wasif :)

I was witness to the performance of your FJ during last week's trip to Sweihan with Khalid. As I mentioned in this thread, while driver's experience is necessary, modifying our rigs do wonders also :D

Can u please post Mebar's contact telephone numbers and address ;)

Hey Nasser.

Mebar Auto is located two shops down from Gargash motors on the road to Sharjah just opposite where it runs past teh end of the airport runway.

It is run by Rashad Faraj and Danny who are devoted offroaders and know what they are doing.

Their website is http://www.mebar-auto.com/

The contacts are o4 297 4787. Rashad can be reached on 050 422 4535 and Danny at 055 644 4560.

These guya re absolutely amazine but do keep in mind that they are also quiet busy so you will need to call and fix up an appointment.

They can also sell you a compressor that has a higher rating than the ARB compressor at a fraction of the price amongst other things.
