Trip Idea: Al Hamra Ghost Town

Fri Jun 29, 2012 12:47 pm

Just updated!!!

http://weekenduae.com/2012/06/29/weeken ... d-cruiser/

It is a short desert drive; and it can be easy or difficult, as you please. It offers lovely picnic views in a shaded forest and, at the same time, exhilarating climbs up a long dune slipface.

The drive then ends at a little-known beach, after passing through an abandoned historical village.

And if that is not enough versatility for you, if you choose to spend the night you can camp freely on the beach (with the Al Hamra ghosts), enjoy an inexpensive night at the nearby Bin Majid Beach Resort or sink into luxury at the even closer Al Hamra Fort Hotel and Beach Resort.

You know, this sort of crap really can get very boring. Please Wasif wind your neck in and stop acting like a d***head. Perhaps my Jeep breaks because it gets used hard, regularly, rather than pootling around town, rarely bumping up anything bigger than a kerbstone. Perhaps it breaks ecause it's old and done a lot of miles. Perhaps I'm unlucky. That said, it has only once failed to get me home - not bad for something which cost about the same as an FJ's front bumper!
