The only issue with Jeep Wrangler is the front drive train. Those axles break down too often, the diff housing gets bent and the diff gears go haywire. However, if you upgrade to Rubicon drive trains, then all these problems are averted, but it will cost you Dhs 20k, then sell of original ones for say 10 k and u end up paying 10k more. Then, only then will you have a very reliable offroader with no problems.

I am saying this from previous experience.

Oh man
This nissan-jeep debate will never end ppl, you did a huge mistake posting this topic firas :)
Take my word and try both and whichever you like more go ahead
All of us has different types of driving techniques, some will like nissan and some will like jeeps depending on the driving style i believe these guys adviced you based on that
Its a simple equation ;
Comfort+reliability+power= Nissan (you will appreciate it after along day out once you go home comfortably)
Tough+stability+power=jeep. ( you will appreciate it in tough situations off road )
And if you want all of the above- buy nissan exterra
In my opinion exterra after a lift kit is the best dune bashing car ever

It was fun while it lasted; it being the vehicle itself.

WooW guys this went messy here which is great and i'm sure many of us out there questions which to buy.

but im not confused now, i was this close to get the nissan SWB, but stopped to see the wrangler upgrade story going on here.

nissan options really sucks for the price despite the ride it self, while the jeep comes with mid range options here and there but with upgrades it goes to almost the same price + - with nissan.

lets add the debate and include toyota TUNDRA one door? any comments here? i heard about it and my brother owns one and half doors its monster on road but question does it come close to the ladies above?

waiting for all :)

thanks everyone

I don't recommend Tundara too heavy over heating problems it's good for Jo level only but when it got suck its get really stuck
Why don't you see land crosier 2001 to 2006 VXR or GXR they are great in road and offraod

Faris - as suggested somewhere, the Nissan Xterra is a good vehicle or as Taher says, the Land Cruiser or Prado is also very very good. Look around and you'll notice that Patrols and Land Cruisers make up a massive % of all 4x4's on the roads here - they are also used extensively by the UN and military world wide, why - because they are superb strong vehicles even in tough conditions. They will also have a good re-sale value. Stay away from these flashy big pick-up trucks which are too long and heavy.

My advice, which will be controversial as you can see from the divided opinions, would be to stick to a Nissan or Toyota.
They are very strong, reliable and good value - Jeeps or other American makes can of course be fine (sometimes!) or can give you plenty of hassle, breakdowns and trouble - I've seen numerous occassions with sad faced Jeep drivers waving from tow trucks, even with nearly new vehicles.
So I would strongly recommend you to buy a Japanese made vehicle, even the "fake jeep" F.J.'s are okay (Wawa) :fish:
(with humble apologies to all Jeep lovers who may disagree with these comments).
