Being a FULL BLOODED JEEP OWNER
I can also add my bit to the discussion.
Jeeps have very good after sales service, If something happens, very rarely
, the warranty covers it, Mine is a 2008, in 2011 I extended the warranty for another 3 years for a cost of I think 4000 AED, from day 1 I did not have to spend for a single dime on the fixes. When I had the probelm last year with my wife's jeep in oman, jeep also stepped up and recovered the vehicle from the mountain and replaced all the wiring in the car at a huge expense to them.
The vehicle is loads of fun to drive and loads of fun when you go topless, I like going topless

Let me add my two fils as well
I think what can help the decision is to consider this difference: the Patrol is a heavy-duty, well-built, serious 4x4 vehicle. It is made to last, and it is made for work, and it is made to be reliable; but, it is a little boring to drive compared to a Wrangler.
The Wrangler is designed to be a 4x4 toy for big boys. That is its job, that is its purpose. It will not be as reliable, it will not be as sturdy, it will not be as good on the highway, it will not keep its resale value as well, but it will give you smiles - lots of smiles, and fun, and adrenalin rush. Hennie said it: topless, guys!!! have you driven topless over the dunes??? It's awesome!!! Topless through wadis? Topless anywhere LOOOOL I drove my Jeep topless and doorless it was so good, even in summer! I wore a hat... I didn't care... it was a great feeling to be in the open, out in nature, not boxed inside and looking through windows! What other 4x4 allows you to go topless?
A Wrangler also comes stock with roll-bars - that's good for the dunes. For highway safety, Patrol will be better; but for dunes and some steep trails, it's good to have solid bars protecting you and your passengers.
So, even though I love Nissan, and I admire and respect its capabilities and the intelligent design and engineering, and strength; the Wrangler will be a more fun desert machine.

The less said about Hennie, and his choice of attire.
Honouring their warranty is about the one thing I will give Jeep credit for, so credit where it's due. Overall the dealer in Abu Dhabi/Ain Ain does provide very good after-sales service, but the same can't be said for the one in Dubai.Hennie wrote:Being a FULL BLOODED JEEP OWNERI can also add my bit to the discussion.

I entirely AGREE with "PR" and "Hennie" plus all the Topless Wrangler Lovers !
The Jeep Wrangler is the business.... And on that basis please have a look at the link to my beloved Jeep for sale, which is in excellent condition, full maintenance history and needs to be sold (unfortunately, I am leaving the UAE)! Please let any friends know if they are looking for a new vehicle !

The price is obviously negotiable. I also think Codger should make an offer !!!!
Thanks Paul

They are incredibly capable and always fun to drive, but after about 2.5 years mine started to play up. Some of that was because of the beating I gave it, but it's also been because of the shoddy dealerpibarker007 wrote: The price is obviously negotiable. I also think Codger should make an offer !!!!
