What is your driving style?

Tue Mar 09, 2010 3:35 pm

Hey guys, after a little outing today with Eric, Marina, and Neil I decided to see who drives like what? This is after a discussion about breaking our toys in the desert and the main cause for them breaking.
So your choices are as follows:

1. Sloper - Somebody who likes to do mainly drifting on sideslopes and slipfaces with minimum cresting who goes with smooth, almost water like fluidity around, and through the dunes.

2. Straight liner - well, like JC with an aggressive, lead foot driving, with no concern for what' over the next crest.

3. Tech Trekker - Somebody who is a little more technical with their driving style, likes to do a bit of everything, whilst still being happy to simply spin around a bowl for an hour or two.

4. All-rounder - Somebody who likes to do a bit of everything all in one run, can be happy in any situation and will not take a challenge lightly.

I personally think I am option 1, but others may think differently. What about you?

As for me, this is what I like doing most:

Playing in a bowl....but not for more than 15 minutes.

Side sloping...drifting...... :D

Cresting....straight on with Sahar (Jeep) and side cresting in El Torro (Badrol) :D

Riding the crest..following that thin line on top of the dune...now this is what breaks my front axles most of the time

I'd like to think of myself as #3. I like to see how little effort I can crest with and what tight sandy bowl I can crawl through - some times by accident! My first love is rocks though. :D I try to avoid side cresting as I feel my suspension is too tall most times for that but I do enjoy a side slope and the larger bowls to play in.

Hey chief, I think you are number one. The more aggressive style driver.
GO HARD OR GO HOME!!!

Now that I think about it, I may be number three also. I am very happy to do everything but prefer it to be technical, as straightlining is just not my thing.

I would think uour driving style is largely governed by the type of car you are driving and its wheelbase.

Personally I would be happy with number 4.

I agree somewhat Wasif, but then again, as the old saying goes "All bad workmen blame their tools" ha ha.
