Cool, tks - I'll contact them and will share what the deal is. I was thinking I'd have to get insurance at every border...

EDIT: well, on the phone, the dude said I should get insurance from ADNIC and he knew nothing about what his own website says. There certainly is a need for telephone training... should open a Professional Telephone Certificate course... I'll try sending them a fax.

Well,You may have the tel# already, but incase, Toll Free: 8001240660

Insurance - better to have it done here in UAE for the coutries that you are going to cross, except KSA and Turkey or any European country.

Maybe, you need to have the health Insurance also.

ADNIC - Where you have to get Insured (Maybe they are the only one who offer the insurance.

Why don't you check with PP Nath ..he did the AUH to Germany and back trip earlier this year. Call him on 050 615 2260.

He was saying something about having to get a "passport" for the car too!

Do let us know what he has to say as I am sure there are many here who contemplate cross border expeditions but are put off by the lack of information on this.

sent PP Nath a txt but he's not answering - could Wasif or someone who knows him personally ask him to come online and share a few words about his experience? Specifically it would be important to learn about the visa and car insurance requirements.

We'd appreciate it, PP Nath 8)

Well, I have called him and he replied...
It depends how fast you drive and how long you stop!
If you take it in an easy pace, 1 night in Saudi and 2nd night in Syria and 3rd night for sure in Tirkey!
PP - told me the cost were about Dhs.85000 for 45 days trip in Europe and back. (w/o hotel stay) cause he stayed in his VAN!

I spent 4 days of Feburary in Antalya a few years back in a previous life. I absolutely enjoyed the people and the slow pace of the city. Turkey would be an awesome place to explore.
