Hello

Wed Aug 31, 2011 11:52 am

Hi All,
I just picked up a 99 Patrol 4.5 Manual. She's in great shape but has a few expected quirks for a car of this age. I heard about this forum from the seller. Figured I stop it and say hi. I was hoping to find some good sources for parts both new and used as well as a reliable shop. I'm the son of mechanic but am spoiled with usually have a lift around to do all the maintence myself. I'm also not afraid to go digging thru a salavage yard, which I have never seen here.

I'm from the US, lived in AD about a year and have a '10 6th gen Patrol as well, it's my wife's. We don't have Patrols in the states which is was drew me to them as well as the value. I owned two other Nissans so I a fan of the brand.

I'm versed in car forums as I administered one for ten years before selling the car and moving out here.

I'm still not sure about offroading the truck. I think I'm more of a trail rider to beautiful places than a dune basher. Been quading outside of town a half dozen times.

I'll most likely be trolling and reading!

Cheers,
-Andy

welcome aboard Andy... hahaha.. we have another nissan addict on our hand. lol.. most of us are pro-nissan here... beware of the jeepers though.. they are really creepers haha! I myself have a lwb nissan patrol. And don't worry much about the patrol in the sand its made to be very tough and very forgiving... unlike a jeep that breaks up every time you take it out. real shame they dont sell the patrol in the states.. i wanted to have one when i was there in colorado.

so welcome to the forums.. and you're gonna have to join us sometime. so check out the junior offroader trips section to sign up.

Hello all,
New owner of 99 LWB Patrol. Previous owner directed me to the forum. I look forward to trolling the boards and hopefully meeting some of you.

Eid Mubarak!

Done,
That part about knowing how online forums work, LOL I guess I overstated it. Things are a little different here.
Thanks,

Hi Andy
Welcome to UAEoffroaders. Some Marshals here, myself included, dune bash TO beautiful places. Planning a Liwa trip in a few weeks, but will not be open to rookies, so why not sign up for a rookie/junior trip and feel the sand under your tyres, get some experience and be ready to hit the most beautiful dunes in the country with us?

PS Nissans have been known to openly weep when deprived of the sand for too long!
