You are already a full fledged member ....you will show a title of Junior Offroader once you complete one trip with the.

And then on your skills will be observed and you will in time have the option to move up to Offroader, Senior Offroader and then Expert Offroader.

The club will only assign a level to you once you come out and play with us ! Hopefully in the cooler months...well in your case, knowing how dedicated you are, maybe you might be persuaded to join one of our Sweihan trips

Just bought new fj cruiser 110 on clock!<< total noob. Wats the small gear stick for?

Both myself and my wife Martina excited about getting it on the sand!

Any advice will be appreciated.

Living in RAK, so Oman sounnds good? Obviously aprt from wat UAE has to offer.

Hope to get along to an event soon & looking forwards to meting u all. )

first off welcome to the club, our really gonna enjoy it!
since you did get a straight answer, the short gear stick is the transfer case.
this helps you select between
2H (2 wheel drive high gear for normal driving)
4H (4 wheel drive high gear for offroading normal) you should dive in this gear as much as you can.
4L (4wheel drive Low gear) this should be used to get yourself out of sticky situations when you need max power. dont not drive for long in this gear. as soon as you get yourself out of that situation. shift back to 4H.

to shift safely between theses gears, please follow abide by these rules.

2H - 4H (shift on the Fly) you can shift from 2H to 4H while driving as long as u are below 70Km/H. MAKE SURE THE WHEELS ARE STRAIGHT.

4H - 4L:- BE VERY CAREFUL HERE! car must come to a complete stop front wheels should be straight, speed transmission(normal gear box P,R,N,D.....etc) should be in N. make sure its in N then shift transfer case from 4H-N-4L.
if you want to climb steep dunes and need to use 4L put the transmission in 3. never drive it in 1st gear when in 4L or you will blow ure engine.
4L- 1st gear lock should only be used to self recover(keeping your revs between 1500 - 3000rpm)
the marshals will guide u in person on your trip.
