Hi All,

My name is Mark, moved to Dubai about 11 months ago. Finally getting settled in, and recently completed a RTA sanctioned Desert Driving Course, which was a lot of fun. Looking forward to getting out into the desert and mountains with our Toyota Landcruiser!

Hi, Mark -
Welcome to the group. :-) I saw your question about Khasab in the Gen Info thread. There are several people who can answer it accurately (sadly, I am not among them), one of them being KhaledS, who is leading a trip in Musandam at this very moment. He will undoubtedly find your question once he gets home and settled.
Welcome again! I look forward to seeing you on the sand! :thumb:

KF_PANDA wrote:Hi, Just wanted to say hello to you all…. I am soon to be moving back to UAE from Kuwait. I was in Abu Dhabi before, but now moving to Dubai. I am known of by some of the original UAE offroaders i suspect, i just to drive before with AD4x4 under the name of Tutan but now 4 years on its time for a new identity as this new name is more fitting to me now.
I used to drive a jeep cherokee in the desert but when i move back i will be bringing my Nissan xterra with me to give it a shot in the sand. However as its my only car i won't be doing anything too extreme in it, not for a while anyway.
With my previous experience i can offer to you a safe, experienced off-roader I am confident in leading (although perhaps a bit rusty need some new sand time before taking on that task) but good on the sweeping and recovery and can help and support newbie drivers.

Jax knows me……as i am sure do a number of other older (in years driving in the desert, not old by age…. before you start getting upset with me lol) members.

Hi Tutan/KF_PANDA, and welcome back to the UAE and UAEOffroaders! :)

Looking forward to seeing you and your XTerra out in the sand soon on some of the upcoming trips - you couldn't have picked a better time to return to the dunes!
I'm sure lots of our founding members will remember you and for the safe, experienced and supportive driver you are on trips. . . as I'm sure you'll also recognise plenty of familiar faces from the 'old days'! :)

We are beginning to get a good base of Dubai members now - so you'll also be able to convoy up to trips together from DBX.

Time to show your XTerra what it can really do in the real dunes ;)

See you soon, Jax

Thanks The Salazar Family

Welcome to the club, Allie and family!

Great to see you out on Osprey's Airshow trip last weekend - you did an awesome job for your first time on sand and from now on things will only get better!
If you need any help or advise regarding recover gear, flag, deflators etc ... ask Di to give me a holler at work or post it on here, there are plenty of members with heaps of experience and knowledge to point you in the right direction and where to buy safe, rated recovery equipment.

Welcome again and looking forward to seeing you out there in the dunes soon
