Welcome aboard Bjorn .. Nevermind being clueless about driving off road .. I assure you that you'll be pro in no time being an active member with us and joining the trips .. U made it to the club in perfect time as it is the beginning of the season and there are so many trips waiting for u to join. The club is celebrating its first anniversary next Friday, maybe it is a great opportunity to start with, to be able to meet all the founders, marshals and members .. Also it will be useful if u can tell us a bit about the car u are driving and don't hesitate to ask for help and advice from anybody in the club, they'll be more than happy to guide u.

Haha...I don't think our Durango flies, although we do catch air from time to time. The color is maroon, but maybe Jeff and his silver Durango can teach us a few tricks!!

I am coming from Belgium and landed in the UAE in July 2010.
I am working for a local company in Abu Dhabi as Sales Manager for Swedish Trucks.
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi 5,7 and would like to participate in some desert trips.
Although I have some 'driving' experience , I never had the opportunity to drive in the dunes of the desert and I think driving in the sand needs some technics and abilities...
I am looking forward to participate in some desert trips, but as a 'normal' driver with a standard 4x4 jeep.

20 years ago, I participated in Belgium in the National 4x4 Championship with a Daihatsu Rocky .....Turbo Diesel !
But in Belgium we only have water and mud, so.....
