I am probably going to get in some trouble on this one, but at the last minute, i ended up getting a 07 JK 2 door. This was for a range of reasons - I still would like the FJ at some stage! People get very serious on this issue - so apologies on both sides!
I am now driving an off roader - anyone going out in the dunes near dubai today??

Welcome to the club Roopesh. Those are two very capable rigs u have for the sands. The departure angle on the Patrol is much better than the Pajero, so, don't worry about that, it is the angle of attack, i.e. the front bumpers that you should take a close look at. I would advise you to use the new Nissan on Newbie trips only, that is Junior Offroader Trips, as the route tends to be easy.
Do join us on our trips and you will have a pretty good idea about it.

Hi,
Thank you for the kind welcome. I will happy to take patrol in junior offroader trips as I am not that great offroader...how to get myself enrolled for the trip.
Also can I get front bash plates done on the patrol before start.

Good day all,
So have been lurking around the shadows long enough and figured now that work (and life in general) have settled down I'd take the time to properly introduce myself. The name's Trevor and I'm a recent import from the snowy west coast of Canada - Alberta to be exact. Have been involved in the off-road scene back home for a little over ten years and have successfully worked my way through a YJ, and a couple TJs - my latest ride, "Ruby" is my pride and joy running tall and proud on 40" Interco Boggers. She's been a blast to build and drive and absent-mindedly I came over with the family and left her behind!
Although I'll be working to correct that situation shortly as lately everwhere I go I keep picturing the amount of fun I could be having if only I had my Jeep...
Anyway here's a couple pics of my ride, and I hope to get out with your group in the not to distant future - if only to ride shotgun and see the sights! Thanks!

Big WELCOME to all new UAEOffRoaders!
@ Mudified Canadian - wow, that sure is one awesome looking Wrangler you have back at home! Did you do the mods yourself? If you bring 'Ruby' over she will certainly stand out over here and give you lots of fun on the dunes - if not, then I reckon you'll be spending a lot of time on the Quadratec site :smiley2:
You've all joined at the right time - this is the best time of the year for offroading!
