Hi Peter, welcome to the club. We have a few people who take their very young children out with the club - I think my friend took her little girl of 10 months old on one trip. It's really important that you have a proper car seat for them though. Looking forward to meeting you soon, MBhunter456 wrote:Hi everyone my name is Peter Hunter I am 30 years old ,living in Al Ain with my wife and 18 month old son, just bought a Jeep cheerokee Liberty (sport) 3.6 V6 and keen to get involved with my family is it an issue to take a child out on a trip that young as we want to start doing this as a family thing. Hello mate. Finally a REAL jeep builder. (No offence guys). I just finished my little pet projectstage 1 and will be carrying on after the winter on to stage two. You are more than welcome to ride shotgun with any of us mate, i am sure there will be plenty of spare seats going on any trip coming up. We have a TV shoot to publicise the club on the 26th if you are free. If so, let me know and you can coem along as a passanger if you like.
Nice rig by the way. May have trouble with registration over here, but if it gets throough, you will be the latest hero in the 4x4 scene over here.
Welcome all other new members to the best offroad club in the region.

So have been lurking around the shadows long enough and figured now that work (and life in general) have settled down I'd take the time to properly introduce myself. The name's Trevor and I'm a recent import from the snowy west coast of Canada - Alberta to be exact. Have been involved in the off-road scene back home for a little over ten years and have successfully worked my way through a YJ, and a couple TJs - my latest ride, "Ruby" is my pride and joy running tall and proud on 40" Interco Boggers. She's been a blast to build and drive and absent-mindedly I came over with the family and left her behind!Although I'll be working to correct that situation shortly as lately everwhere I go I keep picturing the amount of fun I could be having if only I had my Jeep...
Anyway here's a couple pics of my ride, and I hope to get out with your group in the not to distant future - if only to ride shotgun and see the sights! Thanks!

Hello everyone! My name is Alex Marcelo Alagenio (AKA desertspring73) from Philippines, I am an aircraft mechanic working and staying with my wife and two kids here in Abu Dhabi. I had only a couple of trips in the desert with my blueish gray pajero. Recently during Pink Drive in Al Ain, once at Big Red and 2010 Gulf News Fun Drive. Well, yes, I still have to learn a lot from you guys. I wish I could join more of your trips, just bare with me. Looking forward to meet you all.........

Look forward to seeing you out on the sand soon - btw I am neither Celtic or Rangers, I'm a highlander so it's got to be Aberdeen or ICT!

I don't suppose anyone has a copy of a UAE "vehicle standards/traffic codes" manual that I can look at? Figured the Jeep would likely need some tweaking to be considered legal over here but need to see the expectations so I know where to start. And for all you Quadratec fans I have a buddy who runs a shop outta Alberta, "Bear Traxx Offroad", who might be able to offer better pricing - what does Quadratec charge for shipping over here, I know back home they shipped with UPS and they were always happy to throw on a bunch of extra charges...usually tried to avoid UPS as much as possible.
