I joined the forum recently. I am looking forward for my first drive. But i have an issue regarding the radios that are being used, because i read that you are using FRS/GMRS. And those require license so i was wondering could i use the license free PMR466 since i connot get license.
I would appreciate any help.

You do not need a license to use the same radio that we are using in the club , you can buy this radio from Dragon mart it will cost you around AED 200, or you can even order it online, but make sure you get the UHF and not the VHF radio.

I personably prefer the ones that you can key in the channels rather than scanning them.

Hello and welcome to the family, using the radio on roads and inside the city without a license is prohibited by the authorities as far as I know.

However we use it only on the sand for safety purposes.

So after the drives just make sure to switch it off and not use it on road to avoid any violations.

Quick question guys, is there a restriction on buying such devices online, may be via amazon? Because I have found different opinions on that matter that it might be held in customs.

No.. I bought it from amazon US and it got delivered with no issues
