Hi guys, this club sounds like fun. Wasif and Blaze, being a rookie, I need some tips on the FJC. like when to go for H4 and L4. And how to best use the rear diff lock.

Look forward to your words of caution and encouragement.

4H is what you use all the time in the desert, dont leave the gear shifter in D but start from first and then second. I rarely ever move out of second to third ! Being in first and second keeps you right in the power band and you will have a lot of fun !!!

You need to use 4L only if you get stuk, or coming down a very steep dune or at times trying to climb a big dune at slow speed and such similar conditions only. You should engage 4Low and start in third moving down or up depending on the requirment.

Now the Diff lock and the A Trac are used to get out or a stuck mainly. The diff lock will lock both the rear wheels so that equal power goes to both. If unlocked and one rear wheel has traction and the other is spinning then power will not go to the wheel that has traction but will go only to the wheel that is free. With the locker on you get to have power to both rear wheels and it will ensure you get out of a stuck.

A Trac is an amazing system. If you get stuck you should first go to 4L and then engage both the diff lock and the A Trac. What the A Trac does is senses which of the four wheels is spinning and cuts power to that wheel while feeding power to the others that have traction. You will literally bounce your way out of any stuck once you get experienced with the A Trac.

LOl...dont know about me finally doing something right but you definitely did ...by staying away from Jeeps and getting the most fun off road car around ...the FJ !

I have an FJ Owners group and have sent you an invite to join....please accept and post any questions you have out there ! The group is on the link below.

http://www.uaeoffroaders.com/group.php?groupid=3

When you decide to go off road the first thing you need to do is de activate the traction controls.....there are two seperate systems and both can be de activated by pressing and holding down the Traction Control switch under the radio. its the first one on the top left.

When you press it one of the systems gets de activated right away and an orange light comes on in the dash. Continue to press and hold teh button till a second orange light comes on. Now both traction control systems AND the airbags are de activated.

Then you deflate, slip into 4Lo and are ready to recover the Jeeps that you will find dtuck and broken down in the desert.....LOL
