Hi Stewie, welcome to UAE Offroaders. Please click the Upcoming Trips Tab, located on our homepage and you should be able to register yourself in the next drive. We do have one planned for the 9th (Friday) Afternoon.

See you in the sand!

Hello all,

Just joined this group. I had a look at the short documentary on the offroaders and it looks amazing. Great Job!!

I have a land cruiser 2003 GXR and have been desert driving with it since 2013 although i dint get much of a chance to be back since last year. Im pretty sure i never drove it the right way. For a start, i always used to put it in Low from High and used to go in even though i heard its bad for the engine and must be driven in High gear only. is this true? should i then be switching on the ECT power button? can anyone guide me ?

Thanks :)

Welcome to the family Amannan & Seenivas. Hope to see you in the sand soon.

@ amannan, driving on 4 Low or High depends on the terrain you choose. But, yes - aggressive acceleration in 4 Low is not good to your engine... Join us to know your ride better.
