Want to discuss the road condition from UAE border to others country!

Rest Areas - in the roads are (not good) it could be better and improved (CLEAN toilets) and RESTAURANT) - compare to Turkey (wooow).

The roads - Are not good either, but we have no choice, Saudi should put more effort to improve it.

Saudi borders gates - Not operating as they should - the summer season is known to them, although they open only two gates (1 for buss and another for Passenger cars), which end up in making very long lane and delay people for nothing.
They shoyld be well prepared for it and especially for the holly month of RAMADAN.

Well, I hope things will improve.

On the other side, to Oman, the situation is much more friendly - nice border crossing at Mezyad: kind, helpful and clear instructions. Excellent facilities both UAE and Omani side 8)

But border crossing to Bureimi is getting crowded and really difficult for people who have family one side and the other. I prefered old style when Al Ain and Bureimi were neighbours with open door, no fence.

I crossed through Mezyad many times to Nizwa and Salalah. Excellent facilities all the way.

Guys - thanks for your feedback, but the main issue goes when crossing KSA border (Alba67aa), when going to ((Gordan/Syria/Lebanon/Turky or Europe)).
If you have crossed it, please indicate which road to use, (through Reyadh or Hfoof)?

if you are heading to gordain you take the road of Hafoof
then drive all the way to Hafer Albaten try to take a rest at ArAr and spend the night there are some rest area or hotels that you could spend the night
what I recommend is always travel at day light not night

What happens at night?

nothing but the road is 2 way and full of trucks

While travelling long distance accross Saudi Arabia during the summer, I always make it a practice of driving at night. It's cooler and less congested. That's my point of view anyway.

As for the ghosts, well, they just fly off the road when they see me coming....hehehehe
