Question regarding traffic law

hi there, I just had a run in with one of our locally employed law enforcers. My incident was regarding TOO MANY STICKERS on my rig. Is there a limit to how many we can have, or is it just not allowed?

Silly really considering the piles of crap big rigs pulling steel on a timber back bed.

Any way, just a warning, take care with the stickers as they are apparently worthy of being pulled over and fined for!!!

Tony,

Installing stickers on private cars is strictly prohibited. It is allowed on commercial vehicles mainly for advertising purposes.

The coppers will stop you if you have "many"stickers, however, they will turn a blind eye to a sticker or two.

The best place to put your stickers is on the sides of the car, never behind, 'cause that's where they are most visible.

You are allowed to stick UAEOFFROADERS stickers at the back though :D

Does this apply to cars totally wrapped in custom stickers - i mean like the one in last month's autotrader which was a porsche done in camouflage (guess who wants one of those lol). When I get my new wheels I quite fancy having an all over henna design (done by stickers) - on the car! (Not me silly!)

You will be abletodo this with prior permission fromt the traffic dept and I am sure there will be a nice little fee involved too !!

Tintin ...you are lucky for just getting a warning ....I was actually fined two years ago for AED 200.

But the best part is all the Abu Dhabi fines are negotiablie and you will get a 50% reduction on them !!

Another victim of being pulled over here.

Yes I had a car full of coppers pull me over this morning three of them came to my window (I didn't think I looked that dangerous but being first thing of a morning then again maybe I did)

Anyway they advised me that the stickers on the side of my car was not allowed (http://www.uaeoffroaders.com) I of course asked why, they all looked at one another and one of them said "its not allowed I will have to give you a fine OK?" (why he made this sound like a question I don't know but maybe I should have said no to this)

After giving me the fine, pointing out its the stickers on the side of the car not the 2 little stickers I have on the back of the car and apologizing for giving me the fine a little voice chirps up from the back of the car "I'm telling dad".

BIG MISTAKE.....never question their opinion. U should have apologized about the stickers and tell them you did not know and promise to remove it once you get home.

They were expecting your appeal for forgivness :D and once it became clear to them that the appeal was not forthcoming, they decided to give u a ticket.
