Thanks for the article hennie. i think it is a great initiative because in my opinion individuals here dont take the topic of tyres seriously.

1. Alot of people think cheaper is better installing chines / taiwanese brands that are not upto international standards.
2. There are some companies now that actually copy tyre names/ designs -> therefore fake.
3. By being unlucky sometimes, you do get a faulty tire .
4. It is a well known fact here in the UAE in summer that you will see people with blow-outs and sitting on the side of the road eerywhere this time of year :S
5. majority of people have no knowledge about tire specs and therefore dont know what they are installing
Poeple here need totake tire maintenance more seriously

In thsi country the tire like is an even three years. Any car with tires older than three years will not pas inspection.

Now if the tire wears out before three years thats a different issue and needs to be changes.

People do need to take the condition of their tires more seriously....their life depends on them
