Seen these small crocodile jacks being sold in shops but. A are they any good special on sand
Any advise

No mate, they're garbage in the sand. They are not wide enough to support themselves like the bottle jacks do, and if you put them on a board, the wheels snap and cause the jack to slip. Not recommended if you ask me.
Unless they are built to lift at least six tons, I would not feel safe as they could bend very easily. I have busted one, and I think I remember Jkoester breaking hers too. I suppose the larger ones like the tire shops have would be good, but they are very heavy and would take up a lot of space.

Buy a 20T bottle jack from ACE and be done with it. No need for a base plate and can lift the equivalent of three TJ's.

If you are actually shopping for a jack look at the powered bottle jack that Akube has ...I think it was called Instajack.

Its a bottle jack that runs off of your sigarette lighter.

I have seenit in action lifting Pipins "Ford Tundra" to fix a popout.

All we had to do was position teh jack and press teh button and it went up in no time ...saves a lot of time and effort.

Also comes with a impact wrench...very usefull for changing tires in the sands if necessary

Actually, pardon my hair-splitting, but the one that Akube has (and Khalid, and now I, and perhaps others have) is a scissor jack.

My mistake jane ...its a scissor type and I think its awsome ...whats your feedback on it and where / how much did you buy it for !

i have 2 Ton crocodile type jack and i'm very happy with it i use it more then 10 times and never had any problem, just slid it down with plate and lift the car, also i try it in all types of cars like patrol, jeep, pathfinder, xterra, pajero, fj

the problem with bottle type is if you get popout in the sand you need to dig under the axel and adjust it then lift the car coz its long

I ordered mine from Amazon.com while I was in the US this past summer. I was going to bring it back with me on the plane, but the overweight-baggage charge was actually more than the postage for shipping it, myself, so I just did that. Overall, it was not cheap. If you click on the link I posted before, you see an original price and a sale price. When I bought mine, it was not marked down. *sigh*

And, in fact, I have not used mine yet! Back when I was the Queen of Pop(outs), Akube once used his to jack up my capsula, and it worked like a charm. He can probably give you specific feedback, as, possibly, could Khalid (if his has ever even been out of the box).
