Safety first - jerry (uk petrol / usa gas) can holders !!

Hey All - advice please !
Im due for some wahiba sands crossing and am not keen on jerry cans bouncing around inside my Wrangler!
Im also keen to maximise safety and install secure external holders.
Some people recommended getting a tail gate holder fabricated.
but otheres, say not becuase of poor quality compared to one form a Wrangler dealer??
what do you think?a
are they worth it?
and, does anyone know any good fabricators?
