Transmission DISASTER PART III

Mon Dec 05, 2011 10:06 pm

:confused:I'VE PRAYED WE'VE ALL PRAYED. THE PEOPLE AT JEEP GARAGE PRAYED!

BUT AFTER 3 WEEKS, A NEW BIT HERE, A NEW BIT FROM GERMANY THERE.. A NEW CLUTCH (I DONT KNOW WHY - THEY NEVER SAID THAT BACK IN NOVEMBER) INSHALLAH OVER THERE AND FINALLY TODAY WAS THE DAY.:smiley12:

JEEP FIXED - YES IT WAS ... NO O O - HIS SIXTH GEAR (TRIED MANY TIMES) AND A SCRATCHING/BIG SCRAPING SAYS THATS NOT GOOD FOR THE NEW CLUTCH AND ITS NOT FIXED...

I THINK IM GOING MAD.... BUT PLEASE LET ME KNOW...

1 - surely western motors should have seen a worn out clutch 3/4 weeks ago?:smiley13:
2 - if they fitted it, shouldnt it work?
3 - this was nothing to do with the original problem?
4 - ahhhhhhh... ahhh anyone know where Buddaha is as I need inner peace...

thanks again (slightly miffed off) uaeoffroader paul

p.s. i didnt get charged for the auxillary cooler (apparantly it doesnt work with manual jeeps) 2 weeks to let me know isnt bad I guess... :(

I do need more info and am gonna call for the details, but in the meantime: automatic 2006 model and assuming stock tranny cooler!
the symptons are pretty simple - the first time it kept popping out of first gear some times with a loud pop/bang! they fixed it (under warranty) and replaced some parts (to be confirmed).
After that it never worked quite properly and every now and then would pop out of first gear - although with much less of bang. As it was just under warranty, I though I should get it sorted.

now he's going on about it not alligning properly and something to do with the lift on the jeep!?! so the last order if for a part, whcih lowers the transmiission to align it.

what do you think?
will get more details today. It just seems far far too longer time now - overall about 2 and a half weeks !

But first time, it just
Now, you told me that you had an automatic in the original post. So the question is, how long did it take them to realize you don't need an aux cooler before they didn't charge you? /it sounds like a typical western motors scenario to me but so long as it's under warranty then why not I say?

Good luck mate
