Juz wanna gather info from experience seniors n members what kinda of mod should a newbie like me get...

I say, with all experience, but it will be hard for you, maybe even impossible! that you should not do any mods until you're passed newbie status...

Here's why: firstly, JK is a fine machine - it can take you everywhere. If you can't go everywhere, it's the driver, not the Jeep. Second, as a newbie you're learning real fast: every drive you're adding skills and knowledge, and that changes your understanding of the driving, the vehicle, and the desert. Today you will make a decision that next drive you'll have reached a different understanding, and you might regret. Thirdly, don't get caught in the spend-more-to-look-good - because it doesn't look good. What looks good is a really awesome driver that can take a burnt-out, scratched up, old beater of a crap car and drive where flash-jack with his fancy $$$ chrome Barbie car just can't go... 8) Now , that's cool!

However, usually, first mod would be.... hmmm.... would be.... OK, how about a little lift so you can fit bigger tires! More ground clearance, more flotation, that'll be good.

I was actually planning for a 2.5" lift and bigger wheels...but not sure will it void my warranty...reading some past posting abt Al Futtaim thingy turn me off...

Shaz, yes, modifying stock parts will void warranty. Actually, even any repairs outside of the dealer will void warranty.

Sometimes they let it slide, but technically, that's what the warranty says.

When I started this game, I was asking everyone impressed me by his driving skills, I can tell the common factor was they drive stock cars till they be come advanced driver.

Sigh...looks like I'm gonna be stuck wif stock jeep parts...

As the guys have said, try not to modify the car until you modify your style, then you can plan what you want and take time to go over the best parts that fit your needs/budget. The one thing with a lift is that it only raises the actual body of the vehicle, not the lowest lying parts... the axles. This will come only with installing bigger tires.

My advice, if it's worth anything anymore as I've been out of the game for a while, would be to get a minimal lift (2 inch max) and get bigger tires, no more than 16" rims, extended bump stops and better fender flares.

Metal Cloak in the states make some amazing full fender replacements which will give you much more clearance for bigger tires than a lift will and this combo of 2" lift with the metal cloaks should enable you to fit at least 33" tires, which will give you an overall extra axle ground clearance of about 1.5" plus about 3-4" of ground clearance for the body (2" suspension lift, plus extra height from bigger tires).

All in all, there are many options out there, but take your time and plan carefully. Finding the right combo first time is tricky, but the more experience you get, the better you will understand your jeep.

Agree with Zeer. It's important to understand your car. Possibly when you reach Offroader status then you should look at tyres and lift.
