To bead or not to bead?... That is the question ( apologises to Will Shakespear)

Now that Mrs. B has her own car she's wants to get it just right for the desert. First modification she needs is to beadlock the tires. I read that there are two types, internal and external. So for all those in the know, what's best?

The internals are probably the more secure option as they will not fall off of teh rim like the externals have a tendency to do. The only problem with the internals is the prep work that goes into them.

The externals have been known to fall off on highways as the bolts can vibrate loose at highway speeds.
I would go with teh internals if I were to do any, but would be very careful of who installs them as you have to be extremely precise with the drilling and chamffering as not to leave sharp edges/open spots for air loss!
Good luck bud.

As big Tony stated the stauners are very good, a mate had them put on by Extreme, very impressed with them.
ARB have a new line of them that dont require any mods to the wheels, am hearing good stuff on them too, cant find a link online for them but have seen them in their showroom in mussafah and speaking to a few guys who have got them, they r happy chappies. Will keep an eye out for a review on them.

:smiley10:Wills is shaking in his grave right now...hehehehe
Back to the subject
As mentioned by Lee, the best ones are those being sold by ARB......On the other hand, the Staun product, while being effective, is dependant upon the way they are installed, and believe me, it is a 50-50 chance they won't cause vibration. I tried them and had to remove them:smiley13:
Go for the ones at ARB.

Get a set of BFG's and they will never pop out so no need for bead locks.
If you are still serious and are determined to get them speak to Engg Adel as he has the internals ones installed on one of his Jeeps and he can tell you what to look for and what to get.
BTW Congrats on your new Wheels Marina !
Where are the pictures ?

I don’t recommend the internals , it cost me 3000 to buy them ended with damage rims that I had to replace the 4 of them that make the total price of loss 6000 AED.
as wasif sad go for BFG'S they are good
