Yup, FJ-40 diesel, which only needs air intake above water to keep running because no spark plugs 8)

Ye thats the beauty of a diesel engine, the engine can get water in it and still function well< dont recommend lool > it but it will still go no problem. If i ever changed over to wadi exploring, i would probably buy a land rover diesel or a nissan patrol 4.2 diesel with an air scoop like an antenna coming ontop of the car heheheh

i can bet the fj-60 engine(petrol) got flooded and stalled! smart move by pickup as dangerous to try and hookup a line to tow

Yup, definitely - to get out and try attach a tow rope you would need a safety rope around yourself as well, and you'd have to do it from upsteam. Water was coming over the hood so that's hip height and no way you can stand in that force.

The guy was a hero. He took a risk, but it worked out. Awesome FJ-70 pick-up!!! If I could register it, that would be my car of choice. Same engine as my Elsie (inline 6, 4.5L) and the new ones are even better, the Ozzie spec turbo-charged diesel is a beast!!!
