Would appreciate your feedback for a blog I'm starting - my off-roading buddies have first view ;) All comments welcome and appreciated.

BTW, it's free for all people and there's no business intention.

Great stuff Paolo - it should prove to be a superb "adventurer's resource". Thank you.

Thanks, I think I'd also like to put up a link to the club, so that it can refer interested people to a community of adventurers and not just present trips - because that's another reason people don't go places: they don't have a network of like-minded buddies to go with them!

But I'll do stuff like that later, first I want to build the database of trips and see if people do find them useful.

I also like the idea that in this blog I can be my own boss and not write for the Editor - and I can put my photos, and basically I have complete control over the publication 8)

Hey, trips are for you guys as well! I know you have plenty of your own, but I know I'm always looking for something new :)

Great idea Paolo - really enjoyed reading these. Quite fancy doing the turtle one in Oman, but it would be helpful if you could indicate the optimum time to do these trips, I suspect it will be getting a bit hot for this one now!

Thanks :)

Actually, I would go for Turtle Beach even in summer - the beach has a giant rock overhang right smack in the middle of the beach that gives you cool shade almost all day, plus you can jump in the fresh Indian Ocean whenever you like!

Besides, I think that summer is supposed to be the turtle egg season... hmm, where did I read that? Ah yes: here:

"July is the peak laying season for the greens when over 100 turtles come ashore each night. September to November, however, is the best time to witness both laying and hatching at Ras al-Jinz. At least one turtle arrives on the beach every night of the year. Full-moon nights make it easier to walk and to witness the spectacle but turtles prefer dark nights so as not to attract the unwanted attentions of predators which often dig up the eggs as soon as they are laid."

Looks great. Some interesting and beautiful photos. Sharp and colorful.
I like the interactive maps. I only checked the Wadi Jazira one. Trying to figure out the flags, though. Some seem to have photos and some not. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a complete view of the photo.
Looking forward to some more trips and doing one or two or...Thanks.

Thanks - try zooming in real close in the map and the photo icon will separate from the coordinate icon.

The photos are the same as in the blog story, though.

Hey, first trip story should be out in a few days! Aiming for May 1st. It'll be to a place chock-full of fossils, you won't believe it 8)
