Im very intersted in having this fabricated !! is that something your friend could do?? (let me know is the pictures clear!?!)

As Tony said u cud even arrange with some local shop there near by u instead of drivin all the way here to DXB ... I would say Chk for nearby local shops who could do it and it wud save u time and money bro ....

I think if you want that exact design you would have to get som ebasic drawings/measurments for the guys to follow. Otherwise, take two jerry cans, tell them where you want them installed and what material you want them to use then go from there. Most shops in musaffah will be able to weld up some tube metal or plate steel for you. OR you could take a look around some scrap yards and grab two from an old patrol and get the welded together to make one unit?!?

Paul- you can buy the holders to put the cans on the side of the car behind the front wheel well. they are similar to the nissan patrol rear fuel holder but without the extra parts for mounting the license plate and light.

Wasif and PR- where do you think is safest to carry aux fuel? Surely the back of the vehicle must be better than inside?

Hi,

Ive been told fixing behind front wheels mounts poorly, rattles and not adviseable.
Previously Ive carried inside although seeking more secure alternative. There are not too many points to strap them down also (considering other equipment)!

There used to be a guy called Yusuf / Joseph who used to manage the Rami Trading shop in Musaffah. He had a TJ and he had two Jerry Cans bolted sideways with the spouts towards the top. They were bolted just above the rear wheel arches.

He had a pipe which he would use to syphon out the gas to th main tank.

Come to think of it carrying additonal fuel is a bit risky at any time especially in a Jeep.
I waould look ito fitting some kind of an auxiliary tank below the floor of he Jeep...by far te safest place.

In my personal opinion, they are much safer on the rear door than the petrol tank is in it's stock location. The exhaust and other moving, hot parts all run along side, underneath or over the top of the petrol tank; however, if you put the aux cans on the rear door they are completely out of harms way.
They are easy to install, easy to remove and will not rattle too much due to the structure of the door, as it has the spare tire carrier built in. Most people buy a rear bumper that has a tire carrier with jerry can holders built in, so why not try and get some installed in a similar position, like one each side of the tire so the carrier is flush with the bottom of the door?
