side slooping is never an LR thing since the felt point of gravity is high (not the real one though) givving you a very unpleasant sensation while driving on a slope. But you, as a LR fan, know that even this can become adictive once used to it.
What you describe is one of the big things in Diesel engines. No need of high volume and still bathing in torque.
