Hello, new member.
Richard Moss, British (English). aged 46 and living in Al Ain. I work at a local flying school as a flight simulator instructor. Married with 2 daughters.
Just bought my first 4x4 - a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4L Laredo. It was an attractive price but needed quite a bit of work on it but is almost there now. My wife and kids love the Jeep, partly because it's easier to get in and out of than my Chevrolet Lumina coupe.
Jobs done on the car (all done by me):
New radiator, rad cap, water pump, water return pipe, hoses, thermostat etc.
All fluids changed (engine, axles, transfer case)
Plugs, rotor arm, distributor cap, plug leads all replaced
Front hubs replaced (to replace wheel bearings)
Front CV boots replaced
Roof console and trip computer added
Front lights all replaced
Numerous interior trim repairs - including door trim repairs, rear boot struts,
Vacuum lines for heater and cruise control repaired
Central locking and rear wiper fixed
several suspension bushes replaced
and some other stuff that I've forgotten
Jobs to do:
replace the remaining suspension bushes (new poly bushes are on order)
replace the viscous coupling in the transfer case
possibly replace some or all of the bearings in the front axle
replace some or all of the front steering balljoints
new tyres (the old ones are starting to crack on the sidewalls)
get the windows tinted
and a million other things that I have yet to find.

Hey richard, a man after my own heart. I have had a 98 ZJ 5.2 for the last foru years and have done a LOT of repairs on my own too. They are great fun to wqork on eh, and quite easy considering the size of them.
Anyway, I hope to see your toy ou tin the sand soon so we can compare notes. Sadly I am getting shot of my ZJ now as it has too many problems to justify fixing after all the money I have put into it. Seems I've been chasing my tail for the last four years and got no closer to perfection each time!
Anyway, glad you joined and hope to meet you and your family soon, you will not regret it!
