The vehicle is powerful and have been in one in while still stock and it outclimbed a modified TJ up a dune with ease. The rear wheel track is narrower than the front and it tends to get itself very sideways when going down dunes. In modified version ( bits & pieces from Australia) its a mean machine but you have to be very much on your toes when driving it off road.
My personal choice for a toy would be an old swb Patrol or an old model TJ or YJ Wrangler.
