Talk to Silvester " Caprihorse" on Almost 4x4 as he drives the kind of Nissan you are looking for.

Since you have burnt your fingers earlier I would suggest you take your time on this choice. Maybe you can get a ride on Silvesters Pathfinder and see how it feels.

Any car you choose it would be better if you tried one out and spoke to the owners of similar cars for feedback before you take the plunge !

What happened to that little Jeep JC had bought , maybe you can buy that if its availabe ....you will surely get a good price and an honest opinion on it from JC

I know, I would need to hit the sand in a few other models first, but for now I need to concentrate on other things. As I said, it won't be until after christmas at least before I get a new ride.
As for JC's YJ, he is keeping that now as Spoon is coming back so he will keep it for him.

tony i started offroading with the kind of pathfinder that Silvester from Almost4x4 has. very reliable and durable. when i didnt know the art of safe offroading u can imagine the kind of beating the car took! it stuck with me for 225,000Kms+ with no agency maintenance after 100K would over load the car with inverters and all as we had to start work from scratch. driving with an over loaded car from dubai to Abu dhabi alomst ever day. and after that with no mods i still got AED 25K for it after 5 yrs of torture.
i would suggest look at it seriously. very comfortable and fun ride!

Cheers blaze, that's the kind of info I'm looking for. I have heard great things, and remember somebody from the other club having one for a long time and he loved it. He had a manual one though, which are kind of hard to find it seems. I will keep on looking though as I have time to spare. The thing that has won me over on them is the dimensions. They are almost identical to the ZJ but a little lighter and more reliable which is what I'm looking for! :D

cheers matey

Bipin, thanks mate, much appreicated.

Elyassi, I have been looking around for manuals but only found one with 300,000km's on it! I am hoping to find one with a LOT less mileage than that and manual would be a bonus, but can always be changed down the line if I find an auto for the right price. :D
